I hear emotion is dying
Its thought a weakness where
The intolerable and insufferable
Apparently we share
We take on board displeasure
The impassive unfeeling ways
The wrongness and the injustice
Until it really plays
Into what is dutifulness
What is the unwritten code
What is their bounden duty
And their obligation load
Mismanagement is commonplace
Malingers in swing
They swing the lead and get away
With wanting now to bring
Irreverence and dishonour
Into the ring so we
Must agree to be insulted
And disrespected constantly
The supercillious gestures
Such arrogance we see
The lack of truest principles
Is how it has to be
Wrangling and unfairness
The order of each day
Where people are unreliable
And there is nothing you can say
Guiltlessness is apparently
On the back burner now
Being artful and suspicious
Really that is how
Business runs its course these days
The emotion all but gone
Its matter of fact and by the book
And thats how life goes on
I am glad I am in my seventies
Not a long way to go
Zombies robots monsters
Are the stars the run the show
The angels and the emotions
Are simply filed away
That is the way of new age
And so be it, I say.
Vicissitude and misery
And wretchedness and pain
Can be metered out to people
Just like falling rain
But they must never show it
In words that make one feel
Tearful for thats weakness
Some thing we must not reveal
