Zoo’s are not good news

Zoo’s provide exhibits
Their failure is of CARE
And Of proper supervision
Of the animals held there
FUZHOU ZOO Is an example
No cameras around
The Self seeking and the self-indulgent
With no keepers on the ground

Kangaroos are wild, imagine
Those now forced to be
Exhibits for the Chinese
Whose immorality
Whose iniquitous behaviour
And amorality
Is witnessed by their ignorance
And utter cruelty

This 12 year old’ a female
Was resting,
thoroughly
Bored with being in a concrete box
For all to see
Imagine her frustration
The unworthiness of man
Who takes house bricks up and tosses them
At the kangaroo
His plan
To waken the poor animal
And make it leap about
Instead one brick carved through her foot
Just for being out

Exposed to all this wickedness
Zoo’s are no place to be
Or go to, they are far removed
From a real sanctuary
They are profit making places
Where the balance sheet is king
Where animals take second place
And as we see some fling

House bricks down upon them
What actually happened here
Was ignorance from the zoo itself
And arrogance and fear
They treated the poor victim
But she died in pain and why
She had a ruptured kidney
Bleeding internally My sigh

Goes up towards the heavens
Her blamelessness alas
Animals all over this planet
Yes enmasse
From those who pay to see them
Who lack morality
Who basically are criminals
Like here for us to see

To make things even worse
The chinese zoo declares
Having not protected the kangaroo
To help boost its affairs
Thinking again of the balance sheet
Contrition not at all
They are going to stuff the animal
And display it in their hall

Lets hope they have honesty
To explain to those who see
This beautiful bush angel
Who just happens to be
A permanent decoration
That it was murdered in plain site
Stoned to death by visitors
Who apparently thought it right

Kangaroo’s are beautiful
Miracles abroad
Macropods with pedigrees
That few around record
Marvellously designed They are
For the wilderness where they
Should all be left Forever
and not taken away

My heart bleeds for this female
Creation knows her pain
She was kitted out with marvels
And our transgression yet again
Condemned her to a hell hole
All Zoo’s I have to say
Need closing Down need banning
For all animals have to pay

With their freedom with their safety
They are martyrs to a cause
Our dishonesty is out there
And almost without pause
We are aiding and abetting
The infidelity
Of transforming them from miracles
To a base commodity
