Animals whatever have a right to life
It seems to me the wolf and others
But the wolf has seen such strife
Persecuted vehemently
Ruthlessly lets say
Has been subject to such ignorance
All along the way
Overwhelmed by arrogance
And criminality
Downtrodden for just being
Alive if you ask me
Oppressed for being a predator
Treated like dirt by some
Given no leg to stand on
And that just makes me glum
That we can get away with this
Its a fiction if you will
A Pack animal who works its butts off
Subjugated still
Lied about for certain
Despite their willingness
To occupy their place of birth
And really never mess
With the human fraternity
So why the prejudice there
Fiction writes them into grief
From our childhood their despair
Is evident they suffer for the ignorance of man
Who has always disadvantaged them
Who was never their fan
They were born of liberation
Their catharsis was to be
Thoroughly emancipated
Which produced a policy
Of certain discrimination
We applied our invisible chain
We made sure they were suspects
And did try to restrain
Their movements and their philosophy
We coerced them at will
Inhibited them whenever
Their blood to we did spill
Authorising hunters to slaughter them and trap
Placed them under curfew
And talked up so much crap
About them which was most unfair
We hampered their display
We let people machine gun them
From the air the wolves did pay
A high price for creations wish
To unharness their desire
To be what creation wanted
Keepers of the fire
The fire that regulated
Prey animals and as such
Designed the environment adequately
For as such they were in touch
They lived in the now and in the flow
And never abandoned their goals
Yet ruthlessly we have neglected them
Restricting their sweet souls
