MR Hornbill

Their romance stretches over forty years or more
For he
Loves his partner and ofcourse
she is holed up
In their tree
Comforting the children
where she has to be
Who is he
he is HORN BILL a gigantic wingspan, he
Has a really Handsome bill
And flies prehistorically

He has to feed the family
Cherish and collect
250 berries at a time
I know I have checked

He keeps them in a pouch
At the back of his long throat
His empathy compelling
And worthy of great note

He struggles with his beak a bit
He is a typical bloke
As much as he tries to get it right
He is seen as quite a joke

But saying that he does it
He sacrifices much
To put food on the table
And to stay in touch

Again he is no fly by night
He knows what he must do
This is how he shows his love
For his partner and how true

He is collecting fruit
MR Horn BILL look at him
In his feathery suit
