Standing Rock protests

The warriors are on the bus
The road is being blocked
The cops are coming so we hear
People now have flocked
They were spraying the indigenous
Arresting people too
Energy transfer partners
Monsters that’s our view

The black snake reeling and proves
To us
The people matter not
The government is the enemy
Democracy’s gone to pot
The people they are nothing
But it’s us who truly be
The strength we are the very soul
Of true democracy

Bales of hay and river stones
And cars and tyres are here
We are taking back our rights as people
This pipe line is pure fear
The courts are in the pockets
Of the governments of the day
Clinton and trump are saying nothing
As we the people pay

They are carving through our sacred sites
Our ancestral graves
It’s land that belongs to all of us
Not these uniformed knaves
Being paid as villains
To come and take us away
This is what is happening
In standing rock today

Of course it’s truly hideous
This defacement of our land
We The people stand together
We fail to understand
The antagonism from the cops
The alienation too
The rancour and the hostilities
From the uniformed cops who

Are also being manipulated
Forced to fight and win
Show disregard for people
Ramp up all that sin
And throw it at the people
The indigenous brigades
Who have literally come from around the world
And as the light now fades

Us protectors we are waiting
The camaraderie
is stronger than it has ever been
What we know and see
Are lines of cops and armoured cars
Waiting on the hill
Incompatible and belligerent
And probably will be until

We all are lost forever
Broken and yes in jail
Our sisters and our brothers
Their courage didn’t fail
They stood against the Giants
The bloody corrupt state
Whose hatefulness and loathsomeness
Came at us at a rate

Of knots and we are standing
Warriors in time
This is America the free
Which isn’t worth a dime
Democracy has packed up
The people long ago
Woke up to the nauseous state
And now it’s there on show

A standoff like no other
History may tell
We were protecting water
But they took us into hell
Denounced our right to protest
The media went quiet
Only the anti media
Really showed any light
