Jon Hendricks Fjallgren

His best friend had passed over
And the pain was clearly felt
It had become distressing
How the ugly hand had dealt
An overwhelming loss for him
And so he wrote a song
Dressed in an indigenous Sami dress
Which is where he did belong

On Swedish television
He sang his yoik
And they
Not understanding the language
But feeling it his way
Of really communicating his agony and regret
It was a tearful number
And clearly all were set

The reindeer herder
Clearly a hard life he agreed
The ice and snow and little else
For him to succeed
It was a moving anthem
Written for his friend
And everyone could feel the pain
right up to the end

4 yes’ he achieved them
Emotionally one could see
The judges from his manner
How much they could be
Moved by his rendition
He stole their hearts away
A truly moving performance
In every single way

And his spectacular costume
The indigenous colours bright
Vivid red and vivid greenAnd a slate grey coat
Looked right
Sandy coloured trousers
And a fur hat clearly he
Was dressed up for the cold climes
As everyone could see
