Absoluteness a priority
And an undying need
To save the whales
To save the seals
Whilst knowing the great seas bleed
Out there on the ocean
Sea shepherd and the crew
In combat with the corporate world
Who takes a different view
Historical traditional
Its just what whalers do
Extinction and Nivana
Their thinking is askew
Its all they know or so they say
The backbone of their soul
Murdering whales and battering seals
That is their expected role
Hunting down these great beasts
The government of Japan,
Norway Iceland,The Faroes all because of the
World wide ban
They go at it like crazy
They argue and they fight
Hiding behind the science banner
Murderers in plain sight
And countries tend to hold back
Weasel words do spring
Australia does very little
And the others tend to bring
Little to the table to stop
These grotesque kills
And so the mantle was picked up
By Sea Shepherd and it fills
The enormous gap in compassion
And solid empathy
For the whales and for the seal pups
Who are slaughtered mercilessly
Their agony is obvious
To any sentient soul
But to culture and tradition
Its clearly a black hole
The cruelty of murdering
Pods of dolphins who
Are more intelligent than the
Hunters and so what we now do
Most of us is turn away
Let it run its course
But not so dear Paul Watson
He is there to force
The whalers into thinking
Nobody has the right
To slaughter the shared earthlings
Turn their day to night
Hunt and harpoon these great beasts
Whose screams are heard for miles
And so he puts himself between
The harpoons despite denials
He shows them up for what they are
And delivers a message to all
To slaughter these denizens of the deep
Does actually appal
Every thinking person
Who knows what they must do
Protest to the highest
And stand for good and true
And Paul Watson has done just this
A mariner is he
And his ships are sailing
Around the world
Where his guardians have to be
Shepherds of the ocean
A vanguard against those
Who blatantly ignore the wishes
Of the majority who chose
To support the ban on whaling
To let these great souls be
Not hunt them down and murder them
On the salty sea
40 years of activism
Courage all the way
And Maxime Ginolin’s composition
Hangs in the salt spray
It permeates the arteries
It puts the mind to rest
The supremacy of Captain Paul
Whose priority is to test
The cohesion of the whalers
What it is they do
Their day of judgement is coming
How are they good and true
Murdering on the high seas
Their abberation for
Such unfashionable behaviour
And so outside the law
The natural world is reeling
From the pollution everywhere
To abuse these splendid creatures
Is driving through despair
Its an ugliness and vileness
Its unravelling the whole
The suffering of so many
Should never be the goal
Of whalers or of sealers
Or any hunting band
The hideousness and the loathing
The waves of sin are fanned
They countenance such horror
With their impropriety
Their bitterness and rancour
And true hostility
And facing them no army
Just SEA Shepherd and the crews
Paul Watson and the other captains
Bringers of good news
With the courtesy of being
With their love for every soul
Reminding everyone of us
That we each have a role
And should use it
Every single day
In everything we do
Be like the SEA shepherds
Support them and be true
The whales are not forever
Neither the seals for they
Are up against it now more so
Than ever they were and they pay
The price in our polluted minds
We dump just so much more
Radiation PCB’s and mercury so unsure
Already we are uncaring
Of the creatures of the sea
Without hunting them and killing them
This is not how it should be
