Scottish Beavers

To me there seems to be a serious concern
Right Across the board
And in Scotland I understand
Landowners cant afford
To leave the groups of Beavers
Now flourishing in Tayside
Because they are causing damage
To the woodlands, the divide

Between those who accept the need
To go and shoot them dead
And those who feel their suffering
From woundings have now led
People to now openly
Feel this actions wrong
Animals suffering in the wild
Really doesn’t belong

In Scotland in this day and age
Whatever landowners feel
And using inappropriate guns
Someone must get real
Sitting on their bloody hands
Whilst pregnant beavers die
And those who have had babies
We all now know they lie

Somewhere waiting desperately
For their mothers to return
Which of course if they have been shot to death
Must fill us with concern
It is illegal to use lead
over water I was told
But post mortems show its happening
Its toxic and controlled

So why the hell are they doing this
They just don’t seem to care
See a beaver shoot it dead
And hope no ones aware
At Knapdale they have been introduced
On a trial and seem to be
Happening it all seems good
But at Tayside tragically

The government has pussy footed around
Apparently
And still
Have made no inroads
Into how it has to be
And so we see this evil
For that is what is is
Trigger happy idiots
Trying to do the biz

Wounding killing hurting
And suffering we know
Shock and awe whats it all for
We now need to know
