Ivory exchange

The majestic one
Cut down and thwarted
A magical soul
Who once had sported
Great powerful tusks
And heart to match
In his played out role
He reached the patch

Such self restraint
An soberness
Behoving as all others
Bless
A fellowship of kingdom come
A hopelessness
So really numb
An unpropitious weight doth drag
The legs give way
And forced to flag

The bullet fired
May be inspired
The wretched hunters
One by one
Pull their triggers
The great beast
Falls to its knees
its final feast

The tusks hacked off
With extraordinary power
A bloodied head
How it did tower
Above its body
On the ground
And no more would it make a sound

The bloodied tusks carried away
To the waiting truck
On that dismal day
Consigned to China or Hong Kong
And we know of course
Its all gone wrong
