The winter solstice brought up to date

It was the dark goddess that both of us loved
Her countenance and jet black eyes
Each god gets six months to share her warm heart
Then We battle and one of us dies

When olly met his brother the oak king
Yesterday
They fought it out at stonehenge
And carried him away

And at Yule a new babe is born
All innocence and joy
The infancy of returned light
Ready to employ

Olly on the other hand goes to the
Wheel of stars
Looks after his Ostrich’s
And saves his love in jars

The goddess they both care about
Is good at reincarnation
Which they have learned
Is right for them
Of course its their salvation

Both would wish to live with her
A full year so I am told
But the sabbats have arranged it well
And now they both are sold

They live 6 months
Then go and die
And are reborn for they
Are happier beings around her
On their happy holiday

And its all about rebirth of course
And the goddess seems to be
Able to ring the changes
And is so happy to see

At least she gets some
Due respect
For her half year handfast
She
Would otherwise tie their heads
Together and thats a certainty

And six months hence another battle
And Olly gets his chance
To kiss under the mistletoe
And honeymoon in France

Performed by 5 players who two verses each
And so we all learned a winter Solstice tale
Spoken beautifully by all and we were then treated
To a composition by Luca cat ferri of a pice of music
For the event which played by the fire and was mesmerising
Thank you to all of you you were wonderful
