I can weigh 5000 kilos
And stand 4 metres high
I happen to be a female
Which is really why
I walk life as the matriarch
In our family herd
With lots of cows around
It doesn’t seem absurd
So much weight on 4 feet
Is a lot to bear
Especially when we walk for miles
Out in the fresh air
130 kilos of food a day
We need
Our skin is about an inch thick
For us now to succeed
We need a lot of good fortune
For the human tribe they be
Really so insensitive
To the likes of you or me
They are, after our ivory
Our tusks are seemingly
Worth a lot of money
It causes us great strife
They will shoot us with their rifles
They will end our life
We are the biggest vegans
The country has even seen
Grass and roots and tree barks
For us well are the scene
When we are little babies
We weigh 200 pounds
With our mothers milk inside of us
We really do the rounds
The sun plays havoc with our skin
Which is why we seek the dust
The mud as well can stop the hell
And give us lots of thrust
We are a potent powerful team
Everywhere we go
Unyielding staunch and resolute
And get stringer as we grow
We can be invincible red blooded and virile
And we can have destructive force
Can ravage and defile
We hate the dreaded bull hooks
That some human want to use
To make us do what they want of us
Thats when they do abuse
We can over power then crush into bits
Stomp on them and flatten we can use our wits
But we have hearts as warm as fire
And always try to be
Helpful to the human species
If they would only let us be free
The tendency to enslave us chain us up
And make
Us prisoners in their sloppy world
Where we don’t want a stake
In anything they are doing
Entertainment no
Silly trucks with building bricks
We are not part of the show
Having them riding on our backs
Their smell is not for us
Either they smell of perfume
Or they constantly cuss
They are a bunch of hateful souls
And are violent we believe
Their lives are full of turmoil
Their absence does relieve
In the emptiness of the wilderness
Their is a boundless feel
But they bring us to their cities
Their Massive towers of steel
And glass and creamy concrete
With motors everywhere
Walking on these dry old road
Fill us with despair
The noise the close proximity
The heat the hardness pains
Our feet get ulcerated
There really are no gains
Out here in the wilderness
The earth and grass are soft
Compared to wear the humans walk
And we see from aloft
Up into the trees we reach
Those ant like humans they
Drive about in metal trucks
And we are often in their way
We have a bash at those vehicles
When ever we can
Rip the mirrors and bumpers off
Yea that is a plan
Rides though really stress us out
Though they are apparently
Sought out by the tourists
They seem to want to see
The jungle from our bare back
To experience our rolling way
We manoeuvre through the rugged grass
And for this they will pay
Quite a lot of money
And so trainers do
Want to keep it going
Even in the zoo
Thomas Cook and others
Seem reluctant to let us be
Wandering around the planet
Absolutely free
Losing our wee babies
Is really awful thing
Again you human beings
Truthfully you bring
Inhumanity to humanity
With your guileless attitude
And then you break their spirits
With your poor ineptitude
Its true we are great animals
And our sleep patterns are few
We day dream quite a lot of course
But really all our crew
Are thoughtful and instinctive
To the wilds around about
The vegetable physiology
And dendrology of doubt
