gadhimai Nepal

There is nothing remotely spectacular
About sacrifice on such a scale
These Buffalo need much more human respect
What they do in Nepal is they fail
Manoj Gautam is an angel truly an angel for he
Can know in his heart in his soul in his being
That slaughter like this cannot be

The gods would be really beside themselves
At this bloody carnage for they
Love life respect life and need the creation of life
Not to take it away

Animals have rights of passage
Animals have feeling for
The people the country the future
And we don’t want to see this any more

Chopping the heads off of animals
Is the most inhumane thing to do
There now is great need for legislative change
And a mass education yes too

What Manoj is doing is exceptional
For Nepal for the tourists for life
He is proving that killing thousands of souls
Brings only great negative strife

i am a poet from England there are people
All over this world
Who scream at the thought of such carnage
And how why these sad animals are hurled
Into a maelstrom of evil
How can it happen again
Butchers all chopping the heads off souls
Causing the world at large pain

Manoj can I say how brilliant your light
Shines on the darkness around
All of your friends and the great volunteers
Working so hard on the ground

You are providing the light of the god
The true god the true Gadhimai
Slaughtering Animals of any number
Makes animal lovers all sigh

Nepal owes a great deal to you Sir
For you take them out of the dark
You with the great light surrounding your soul
Are clearly now leaving your mark

I thank you as one lonely poet
Working for animal rights
You are a great inspiration
You are the man in the lights
