Zimbabwe and Chinese workers who work there

Mining agriculture and construction
Thats what China really does around here
Zimbabwe really needs inward investment
And the local people really they are clear
They need some money in their pots to live on
And Chinese workers have a lot of cash
Africa has wild animals the Chinese like to eat them
The locals go and hunt yea in a flash

Endangered tortoise, pythons even leopards
Pangolin and lion bones can earn big dough
Village dogs are always on the menu
In Chinese Restaurants as most of us know

The way they are caught and killed is so repulsive
The expectation running high today
There has to be more discipline
For this is not the way
People will cave in

It’s forbidden under law to kill some of them
But where there’s money what can people do
There cannot be a compromise the animals must be
Protected they are iconic and need to now be free

It’s all dead pan and poker faced
Unresponsive to
The suffering of animals
What should the locals do

The ugliness the unsightliness, the hideosity
The shocking use of endangered species
It’s all such larceny
It’s villainous destruction
To blemish and to spoil
To boil these little tortoises
Just tip them into oil

It’s bad taste and unrefinement
It’s barbaric in a way
Africa doesn’t need this stuff
Not now not any day

Sending workers back home
For the evil they do here
Doesn’t do Zimababwe good
It just blows Into fear

Hostility and antagonism
And animosity
People become aggressive
And really unfriendly
