Unbearable behaviour

The tragedy is the human

who is daf’t as well as mad

insolent in many ways and really

rather sad

the simplicity of tricks he’s made

to do proves to us all

the bear can do most anything

that bear is just no fool

the fool is he who thinks he has

to torture that poor soul

to get him to do stupid human tricks

and that’s not all

a bear can do so much more

why would he hula hoop

or sit up on a plastic chair

when he’s clearly in the loop

he can probably paint houses

even drive a car

and instead of mowing the grass me thinks

really he’s the star

really very clever

and clearly it appears

he may have got a pasting

it his formative years

deprived perhaps  of water

of honey and the rest

and beaten with a stick or two

perhaps across his chest

but he can speak whatever language

this clown shouts aloud

everything that he is asked

he does and is well endowed

with intelligence that we can see

I bet he can even climb a tree

knows sweet berries

and honey too

and a damned sight more than me and you
