The White Spring

On Sunday I stopped

by Well House Lane

my pilgrimage alone

it always is a shady place

but the sky took on a tone

of the other world

that special place

that you reach

when you are alone

atop the vast green hill there sits

the TOR

and how its grown

where many chasms open out

and let the water flow

clearly the eyes of Avalon

bring out from below

the Chalice Well

its Yews that spell

its secrets anyway

It felt so strange to be here

alone

without Claudia  today

strangely I felt frightened

for she was far away

the goddess and green man

opened its doors

and I did pay

and, a little hare I saw

it was wrapped up

to come home with me for sure

the journey back was horrendous

driving rain all day

and hazardous conditions

on the motorway

but I did have some nice thoughts with me

as around the country lanes I drove

splashing through the puddles

of Taiji and the cove

of the white spring

and the chalice well

and Glastonbury Tor

and the moonstone cottage

and all the other things

that I adore

of the memories I have spent there

and the knowledge mostly from

Claudia my dearest friend

in all the world I am sure
