Don’t put us down

They were the first people

We  must remember this

They   were the  ones

the wilderness folk

they carved out our future

and the connection

with a strong culture

till we awoke

to the chronic conditions

the prejudice  some have

its wrong and it must

be righted their way of life

Yes it is different

but their land is their land

so stop all this strife

indigenous women

are proud and remarkable

leave them alone

just let them be

stop colonizing their land

they are our brothers

we must understand

times have been hard

like few can  imagine

the women worked  hard

to protect and  to be

able to call themselves

the very first people

thats what they are

lets them always be free
