A Downer from Texas

There she is a mother

in a sanctuary

lying there in agony

a Texas stockyard key

to how she has

got into this state

separated forcibly

from her calf at  market

a mother needs to see

her bab,y but these cow hands

are cretins they are just gits

they broke her neck

the bastards

really they are shits!

she s now in Farm Sanctuary

resting and grieving there

she must have suffered terribly

she’s a downer and  her despair

at what these men did do to her

and what the Dairies do

and bloody do it everywhere

they are clueless too

they really have no feeling

for a cow whose needy for

her baby, they don’t care a less

they are only sure

all they want is profit

and they don’t want to know

about feelings they’re not interested

broken necks, agro

they just want to wash their hands

of downers that’s their thing

and this sweet soul is forutnate

that the sanctuary did bring

some future to this lovely soul

for otherwise the yard

would have dragged her off to slaughter

with her dear heart would be scarred

the dairy industry makes me sick

what they do each day

so that human cows can steal the calves milk

and for certain   pay

the piper for the experience

and  the ungulates for they

do get cow like in their thinking

drinking it each day

but sadly only dumb and daft

not sensitive at all

they kind of take the surrogate mother

for granted whose the fool?

the consumer or the dairy or the mother

who can say

but cows do get a rotten deal
