From a Lion’s perpective

The total arrogance of man

its a species I am not a fan

for he takes my life and my family too

to his own dimension

and very few

of the Kings are left

in our world today

in the wilds of Africa

let me say

and the reasons why

are simply said

his hunting men

want us all dead

they have every reason

and all the signs

are the end of life

for majestic Lions

we were the kings

we are still the kings

but man unkind

now what he brings

to the scenario

for where he punts

the new expression

the  canned hunts

thats where some farmers

have made it known

that the farms they run

were well hard blown

they made no money

but now they do

importing the hunters

who come onto

the scene to kill us

with guarantees

wild game hunting

is going to please

we will be shot by anyone

whose got the money

and borrows a gun

from our infant stage

we are caged and sold

the human ways

are paved with gold

humans come to pat us and

and we thoiught that humans

might understand

we acknowledge they caused

the problem but we

one day are going to all be free

and so many went along

with the man idea

we sang their song

we were fed well and

life seemed good

humans were there

we misunderstood

their strategy

in our dreams to again

be free

canned hunting grew

and the shooters came

they paid their money

and did inflame

the hunting scene

took another turn

as more and more

of us did burn

shot off of trucks

by the friends of Lions

that was the frightening

such awful signs

the message came back to us all

that man un kind was having a ball

at our expense the wild one’s knew

man un kind was never true

he would breed us

simply just  to kill

he would breed us

and our blood would  spill

we were just captives

prisoners we

would never be wild

would never be free

Afrika needs us

we must try

to get back our king ship

before we die

the wilds are diminishing

that we know

but there are still places where we can go

canned hunting and hunting

of every kind

is wrong so wrong

they have left behind

the reason for wild life

to live and die

where creation put them

and by and by

perhaps it will happen

possibly not

The Lion should still be king

and not be shot
