what we see

is profound love

from a Chimpanzee

who feels his freedom

is coming fast

love in his heart

of course its cast

his fascination

and appeal

for those who he knows

were for real

they never swore

they always cared

mornings and evenings

when he was scared

they helped him over it

they gave him love

agapistic and from above

all that his freedom

he has won

to be out wildly in the sun

charmed and smitten

by it all

a hug and a kiss

now the long haul
