Guilt ships and tragic trips

the world of sheep takes us away

from anything that’s fair

its one of criminality

and wickedness they  share

a  life of  purely terror

each moment of each day

nothing happens positively

that’s all, that I can say

sheep destroy environments

they soon take out the land

they alter shoots of trees and saplings

which most don’t understand

the so unnatural process

of eating they possess

destruction of the environment

and who could want for less

the sheep must all get wind of this

they must feel it in their bones

they really are unwanted

just 4 legged drones

changing the biodiversity

its a negative impact they

provide for those sheep farmers

all along the way

Wool and meat production

both painful for we see

baby lamb their throats cut

in the abattoir where we

expect this murder to happen

so that the babies they

soon get their lives over with

a terrible price they pay

the sheep are used for wool and mutton

their lives are painful too

shearing sheep on piece work rates

we all know what they do

they tear the skin they wound the souls

its unforgivable pain

the treatment reprehensible

again their lives in vain

as mutton or as live exports

after months of agony

sold off to the middle east

and 3 weeks on the sea

in baking holds and sickening feed

they suffer interminably

their poor digestion shot away

in complete agony

and when they do eventually

get to the port where they

are being off loaded  miserably

again the poor souls pay

some may  be picked up off the docks

loaded into cars

or murdered on the pavement

underneath the stars

being a sheep in Australia

is existence that is all

the conscienceless behaviour

of the farmers as a rule

they  are condemned to hell on earth

from where so many fall

if they imagine there is pity

they are under a black spell

they can imagine all their days

compassion isn’t given

sympathy never pays

the farmers are a hard bunch

its profit related and

a relentlessness that

most lay people cannot understand

the shippers are another breed

vindictive one might say

punished just for being there

victimized each day

the injustice of this life they share

the transgression, too

is totally unwarranted

but that is what they do

they see no obligation

once the sheep are gone

once they are upon the ship

moving on and on

through stormy seas

and pouring rain

and heat which they must bear

many die before the voyage is up

out of despair

Australia rewards its charges

with hell on the high seas

they steal the wool right off their backs

deaf to their nagging plea’s

the journey to the death camps

where slaughter will be slow

their throats will be cut savagely

and their blood of life will flow

all this humiliation this neglect

this aweless state

its cavalier its outrageous

and it hits them at a rate

totally undervalued

and, unregarded too

despised by all and sundry

that’s what shippers do

then we have unloading and holding

stations where

they feel the wrath of the buyers

they are frightened and aware

they see the strange dark faces

the noises they do not know

and the knives so quickly brandished

stuck in them down below

they bleed out in a frenzy

this was the culmination

of evil at the farm

of all that sick creation

the wool they stole the agony

the slaughterhouse and more

the blood and guts and painfulness

of all that bloody gore
