Susan Lane and Broken Paws

We are humbled  in so many ways

at the thought of writing here

because we write about a lady

that we hold most dear

this saintly soul creates a world

for those  victims who find

mishap and adversity

for them  the  daily grind

She is one of those women

with a heart of purest gold

her life is none too wonderful

but on saving souls she’s sold

forever homes and helping

the hard done by, she be

out there on the front line

rewarding constancy

she’s a great campaigner

the canine tribe can see

she re homes and she rescues

appealing constantly

to all her face book people

to help and share and post

she tirelessly continue’s

never gives up the ghost

she’s on the case

she’s in their face

no problem is too great

with Broken Paws

hear the  applause

and with so much on her plate

she struggles and fights their corner

each and every day

Susan is an angel

a saviour that can stay

the course, despite the pressure

she blatantly subscribes

to any fight they throw at her

and takes whatever jibes

nothing is too much for her

her tears become her smiles

and those who know her love her

and really there are piles

of us around we’re trying to

shadow her and see

if we can share

if we can dare

to help her

earnestly

thats what she needs

but seldom gets

and this alas is why

some lose out to death row

there are some that will die

but she is there a fighting

trying desperately

to save those  poor sad darlings

to re home them  see

them get out of their vile predicaments

and find a place

where they can share some happiness

care of the human race

Susan Lane is somebody

who everyone should see

as the angel in amongst

the woe and stress that honestly

shapes the world of animals

who suffer and who cry

domestic pets

on them she sets

and goes out of her way

to try

to answer every single call

she has the where for all

she knows she has to cry sometimes

and does so as a rule

she will use expletives

and clearly sobs alone

she has to save those vanquished souls

all of them she’s known

puppies the pit bulls and the rest

the dogs thrown into fights

here she does invest her soul

and stands up for their rights

a great deal of her spirit

she cries as we all do

her heart gets broken often

that story isn’t new

Sunday is her birthday

a day when this sweet soul

came into this world

sometime

and helped just to extol

some balance and some loving

to a canine world we see

where cowards and psycho’s

take it out on the innocent

who be

susceptible to all of this

lost souls in a way

always very trusting

and then having to pay

 brutalized and beaten up 

who take the brunt and know

they are the world’s victims

with nothing left to show

Susan takes them all on

she weighs in there and does

fight their corner

every time

an angel and that buzz

that spirit and that wondrous heart felt

energy,  we feel

we love you how we love you

for you my dear are REAL
