Harvey Nichols today

Got there at 12

in quite a cold breeze

set up our stalls

on Knightsbridge

the ease

of setting up

tables and leaflets

right there

by the front entrance

and starting to share

our voices our leaflets

our knowledge for we

speak to the passers by

and let them see

and let them hear us

for we do our thing

with the megaphone army

that we always bring

Peter, with his camera

parked by the road

Rob with his megaphone

hoping to goad

rex with his megaphone

and others who

are giving their best

doing what they can do

with Harrods just down the road

the foot fall here

is constant a great stream

of people appear

almost every moment

but the racket we make

many dont go in

we make the ground shake

our voices are constant

the knowledge is high

we rant and we pant

and people ask why

the store still sell fur

when its banned over here

to be made, to be farmed

so it is very clear

that the store lacks all empathy

and doesn’t care

its profit and margin

they dont know whats fair

they dont care one button

all that they need

is a heaving bank balance

and if animals bleed

they just turn away

pretend they don’t know

but they are the evil ones

whose profits grow

on the agony they cause

from their great big store

sat in the shadows

based on blood and gore
