“Sadie”

There is bravery and there is exceptional
bravery and we
are party to the latter with this sweet soul
“Sadie”
put out by a human to run the course
of time
to hunt out in the open
owned by some human slime
who had no thought of care for her
and she was on her own
she stumbled into a hunter trap
the worst she’d ever know
lying there she got frantic
it was so cold stuck outside
she was pained and hungry
with no one to confide
in she began to chew and chew
through the metal strap
busting her teeth
and tearing her gums
but couldn’t face the rap
of winter on her being
she had to get away
she had to free herself
somehow
she had a price to pay
she started gnawing through
her leg what else could she do
she was a feisty female
she wanted to get through
this vile ordeal out in the cold
and so she chewed away
chewed her broken leg off
imagine the dismay
imagine all the agony
its hard to but she tried
and was able to free herself in fact
and crawl to the roadside
she was found and rescued
what a heart she had
the slime who threw her out though
could not have been more bad
I hope they realise one day
how sick they were for she
proved she was a fighter
as brave as brave could be
