Chicken Hell

16,000 hens that’s females crammed into a shed
and allowed by the authorities
to be called free range, instead
of insisting its a concentration camp
for frightened souls
innocent and reliable
with individual goals

Egg producers sicken me
broiler farmers too
really its the final straw
and what you have to do
is wake up from your stupor
and say to them aloud
why are you treating them like us
there is a bloody cloud

coming to envelop you
it is the final straw
the Dairy boys are liars
they are cruel
and it is raw
filth that is abundant
they render millions, and
turn them into so much slop
to spread across the land

and these are baby chickens
the fluffy little chaps
we see them out at Easter time
they are taken out of wraps
to sell their fucking easter eggs
as soon as that days gone
millions hit the rendering
and this goes on and on

chuckling chirping babies as happy as can be
all consigned to hellish teeth
to shred them instantly
and now this free range tangle
this evil that we see
16000 birds in one great shed
can they be free!

cut the corporate clap trap
cut through all this shite
the public need some trust in what they eat
and this ain’t right

I’d like to take the farmers
and trim their bloody ears
and trim their feet and
cram them into one great shed
the tears
my god they would fill an ocean
but they readily do this here
its diabolical what they get away with
and its clear

the world must stop this happening
vegans must arise
get up on our soapboxes
and scream into the skies
wake the trolls and sympathisers up
and tell them they
have got to stop this cruelty
and do it right away

the fat cats drink their cognac
the fat cats drive their cars
the fat cats run the government
and smoke cuban cigars
but we are sick and tired
of all the bloody lies about
and animals have to get some rights
for their freedom we do flout

free range means free ranging
stuck in some vast shed
is iniquitous behavior
no where to lay one’s head
standing up and fighting
is what they do each day
