Re- wilding and Monbiot’s TED speech

Many of us would agree
to the concepts Monbiot expounded
it makes little sense to sit on the fence
and watch wild souls now rounded
up and thrust into the melting pot
of modern life
killing wolves that were introduced
in fits of guile and strife

studying the eco system is not the hunters
wish
they care not for that wholeness
its the prey the fight the dish
its the fur the pelt the feathers
its about the commerical need
it has less to do with long term
life and sadly it does feed

into their own emotions their notions
of it all
their sexual gratification
and their own commercial stall
on the face of it that was seemingly
sustainable to some
but to other those who used their eyes
it wasn’t rule of thumb

the environment was changing
when the wolves were shot and killed
and not just prey creation but far reaching
change had spilled
and just a few wolves actually head true trophic cascades
and much improvement follows suit
as the imbalance then it fades

Nature or the Natural World has the answers, She
creates and realizes faster than the likes of me
or you or all these corporates
who tear down forests and
kill animals and fishes and whales
but don’t understand

exactly what they doing
for it isn’t based on life
its based on death in point of fact and that is laced
with strife
its that very selfish attitude that comes with commercial man
who doesn’t take into account
the earth and its true plan

why would he he’s too ignorant
and to arrogant, and so
his feeble changes ruin
and imbalance where he does go
re wilding makes a lot of sense
its means we must pull back
not go foward into habitats
and think we can rape and sack

forests fields and jungles and tear their life away
for as we do we find of course
that in the end we pay
re wilding seemed a good idea to me
I have always thought
man his knickers in a twist
in the super weeds he’s caught

his roundup has been coming
for a few years now and so he
may slip into the abyss
with the large corporates who see
much as those great dinosaurs saw epochs ago
they were large and cumbersome
but their brains were small you know
