The Arctic

The environment is crying out
the Arctic still pristine
with the ice caps melting faster
than my own kid’s plasticine
Shell goes in with Gazprom
the Russian outfit who
want to put some dirty drills
all around
to chew
great big bloody holes
in the white ice cap
and to draw
oil out of the precious ground
and we all know who for

with all their amazing skill
they know its wrong
we know its wrong
and what are we going to do
sit on our hands
turn our heads away
and think they will change
their view
Greenpeace on the other hand
with 20 souls or so
are in a boat a circling the drill head
as we know
they are not sat on their asses
playing crosswords No
they are in amongst the action
with all the ice and snow

then, along comes the Russians
in International seas
and goes on board arresting them
at gunpoint if you please
Gazprom has the power its seems
to get the big coastguard
to come and arrest the brave souls
I mean he ‘s working hard

telling the team to quit this role
arresting them as well
whose the party in the wrong
whose taking us to Hell
whose risking pristine environments
for the bloody filthy oil
Royal Dutch Shell and Gazprom
it does make my blood boil

and what about Mr Cameron
and what about all the rest
are they jumping up and down
they are but of course I jest
this is what we are doing to
our precious planet earth
completely bloody well destroying it
until it has no worth
