My friend

My friend
and he is everybody’s friend in fact
is up against a bunch of murderous men
who trick him and who frighten him
and her and them and us
and drive us to oblivion
although a lot discuss
the evil and the brutality
the malevolence that’s abroad
how our friend dies slowly
stabbed by a great sword
left to shake and shiver
when pain is then immense
the Japanese are heartless
for them it makes great sense
to murder us in cold blood
and eat the mercury
the PCB’s and the radiation
because it has to be
