Baby Lion cubs raised to take their place in Hell

An anathema, a corrupt practice
something though that still goes on
often called by other names
but what is surely a big con
and gets caught in a great big web
of con in conservation
but impressions sometimes throw us all
and for them its no salvation

the lions are petted day and night
they get use to human kind
people from around the world
become mummies, they are blind
to really what is going on
and they pay a lot to be
unpaid servants supporting canned hunting
actually

and as the lions grow bigger and stronger
by the day
they are groomed just to be victims
and with their sweet lives pay
run into enclosures and then the guarantee
of a big kill for the hunters
who pay their enormous fee

canned hunting is illegal
but it goes on anyway
and makes a lot on money
for those companies who pay
the piper and the others
to set the programme fast
and its lucrative for the rich will pay
and just enjoy the blast

what we have to try and find out
is what makes hunters hunt
what makes the rich exploiters
exploited its no stunt
they are getting ripped off
and lions are getting killed
and people are being hoodwinked
and a lot of blood is spilled

and people are making money
and their future probably
is on the cards so to rock the boat
they do not want to see
but in South Africa
actually most hunts
are canned it seems
so there has to be a shake up
and some rather broken dreams

Lions of all the species
supposedly the Kings
the carnivores apparent
to the heart it brings
flutters that these marvellous beasts
are manipulated by
a bunch of people ready
to groom and see them die
