Why do we take so much shit and carry on ( because its our way perhaps the only way to serve the voiceless)

I think that all of us activists
think along these lines
if AR lights our way for us
then we watch out for the signs
of course there are pitfalls
everywhere
the roads doneed repair
but we are all up to it
and on face book we can share

the animals are suffering
each day problems appear
some go on the streets
some write some sing
we share it here
we work with organizations
we all fight the good fight
some governments call us terrorists
and others call us shite

are we really worried
of course it gets us down
the cruelty is incessant
almost every town
is guilty of the slaughter
pounds and puppy mills
farms and hunts and slaughterhouses
lots of bitter pills

to swallow and we swallow
petition and we try
we go out on the street
protesting oh yea eye to eye
write to MP’s and congress
and to embassies abroad
so many causes come along
more than we can afford

but that doesn’t stop us doing
we all join the affray
we work hard for the animals
which has to be the way
many of us are vegan
we understand that life
is better in the long run
for it cuts out lots of strife

it helps with human illness
and waste and worst of all
it does cut down pollution
and the carbon that great haul
coming from the cattle
farting all the day
creating massive methane
every sick which way

we take on all and sundry
the corporates who try
and make their dirty money
and really do fight shy
of being very honest
they tend to get away
with cruelty and every other
misdemeanor of the day

we take a lot of shit on board
and it gets to us I agree
but the power we have
in our tiny cells
really helps us see
working alone or with a group
we can and do achieve
and in fact that keeps us going
as long as we believe

we pair up
and support each other
that’s glorious way
sharing grief its my belief
it lessens it okay
we meet friends on the ether
like minds who do share
that why social media
its good sometimes its there
