The hog’s lament

Behind the bars
we imprison
she, who is a free thinker
intelligent and intelligible
and definitely not the stinker
that man portrays in dealings
with our rather boisterous friend
whose forest home was fulfilling her
but was always bound to send
vibrations through the cosmos
for how the poor young hog
behind bars in a crate so small
only the pig can log
crammed into a cage and left
to bite the bars all day
and to look upon humanity
and be sure
its gone astray
