San Fermin Bull run Pamplona

Pamplona again hits the news
turns the screws
and this time a women is gored
by a Miura Bull
with plenty of pull
and this poor young women
was floored

trying to climb up a fence
she was hit and tossed
in their air she is
gravely ill so we hear
mostly the runners are men
but somehow this lady
now knows about fear

these bulls are majestic
and run like the clappers
and of course they are prepared
before the run so
they are very angry
it doesn’t make sense
for anyone really
to get over the fence

and into their path
its not the thing to do
its the red wine and hot sun
that is my view

Bulls being run through
packed streets
tells us they
the municipal councils
we must ask them why?
and they must stand by
taking responsibilty
for what is unwarranted
and vile cruelty

Spain to me
seems just to have lost its way
so some saint from the 16 th Century
holds sway
but I am sure that this saint
would not care to see
what they do in his name
bringing such misery

the cheap weekend holiday firms
should now cease
selling this package
it is no show piece
its a cruel out of date
very dangerous affair
where red wine and bulls
and the crowds have to share
the streets
that to me is an awful idea
and injuries happen
which today’ was made clear

Every Bull running from the pens
to the ring
each one of them
what it does bring
to my mind is the senselessness
for each of them will
be killed in the ring
and their blood they will spill
this is cold blooded murder
of healthy young souls
who are injured by trainers
who spread their controls
and then they are slaughtered
in the ring so that some
can be entertained
entertained!
it leaves me numb

and all thinking caring souls
out there should see
that Spain is behind the times
and she should be
waking up fast to this
evil intent
and the people who watch
are so clearly bent
on blood and guts day’s out
numb to the pain
numb to the cruelty
and most are insane

to pay to watch bulls being
murdered to me
is sick its so sick
culture! take it and be
able to realise this isn’t right
we shouldn’t put Bulls in a ring
and then fight
its cruel they have no chance
the matador wins
when he thrusts his sharp sword
and the poor creature spins
