It happened in Philadelphia this April
a 5 week kitten doused in accelerant
was set on fire
by a sicko that’s for certain
but has lived to tell the tale
from its overall condition it looked dire

burns to every part of his sweet body
they had to amputate his injured ears
with special laser treatment
that helped his painful burns
he has now been adopted
and the tears

flowed
when his new family
came in to collect him
but in fact
his joy was clearly matched
by there’s it seems
it was how he did react

it turned out to be a miracle
this baby
ever got back on its
feet again
we have to thank the expertise
of the animal alliance
whose tireless work
has brought rewards
and helped him through
this pain
