Steel Jaw Traps being allowed on Public Land

Cruel and cowardly steel jaw traps
laid on public land
this is vile and vehement
I cannot understand

for the life of me
the anger and the
vitriolic fear
that wolf haters
now get their way
for the and wolves we love so dear

the paths where on they walk
and feel the breezes in their face
the wild one’s pit and run
ofcourse its there the traps
they place

listening to the rustle
of leaves dancing in the sun
on public land
the steel jaw traps
are laid
where wolves do run

its inhumane the savagery
the sick sentiment
suggests
cold hearts have no pity
in shrouded thickets rests

an beautiful apex female
silently she feels
such evil now on public land
where in a trap, reveals

the ruffians who view
this as true blue behaviour, they
are sick inside their core
it makes no sense
there is no way

just imagine for a moment
an apex predator
stalking through the forest
bristling with fur

falling foul to one of these
and the steel trap crushing, she
broken bloodied bellowing out
her woefulness that be

curdling deep inside of her
the blood loss and the pain
really all a shiver
she just dare not refrain

from trying to escape
but tragically the limb she tears
the brutality belittles
the silence of her prayers

her hope in hell to rupture
to pull the leg away
to run back to the forest
to some how get away

the truth is all is lost for her
and by the time she dies
her suffering would have killed the man
who left the contraption’s prize

which might have trapped
somebody’s dog
this whole thing is unfair
wolf haters clearly have built up
a mountain of despair

such power they have to get their way
for ranchers have the gold
and they can simply pay their way
that’s what I’ve been told
