Animals are worth saving ( and so are we)

Animals are worth saving
every single one
nothing is worth losing
underneath our sun

the primates
they are closer
to us of course that’s true
but those furthest away from us
still have rights
we must view

them for of course
they’re sentient
they live where they
were placed
in the desert, in the ocean
in the forest
all have graced

their respective
environments
they are clearly very true
to their habitat
and I think of that
as honest, for they do

live as they were born to live
its only humans who
take away their freedom
and split their world into

who trap them
lure them
hunt them
who murder them at will
who torture and who harm them
and their rich blood, we spill

we tear down their rich forests
the jungle and the field
we grow our different GM crops
and tell the world the yield
when its really domination
of our own species by
stronger richer vile cartels
that want to now apply

their cynical desiring
to enslave us and to be
dictators and as humans we
face them truthfully

rather like the animals
our levels seemingly
the same we may be hunted down
even tortured and not free

to wander as we have done but
caged and left to die
then we might just remember
all those times we passed them by
