Oregon’s wolves look set to get a bashing from the ranching fraternity(if the new bill goes through)

Wolves are getting stick now
almost everywhere
and in Oregon a new bill
seems to be
verfy unfair
its going through at this time
which appears to extends the rule
to killing every wolf
that ranchers see, aware
the wording is too feeble
and if passed will mean
just that
the wolves when seen
could be gunned down
so we now know where they are at

at present the law
is specific a rancher
can only kill
a wolf whilst in the process of
killing his livestock
then it will
be perfectly legitimate
but it is a bitter pill
for ranchers to be taking
because by that time
it’s clear
the wolf is killing their livestock
and their loss
creates the fear

but hardly any ranchers
witness the event
for wolves are very
cagey and wouldn’t be content
being watched
their prowess is better than the man
and by opening out the bill like this
even poaching can

its all about investment
the banksters and the like
its nothing to do with
the environment
and it seems set to psche
those of us
who want the wolf to get
protection
fairness from all sides
but the wolf’s days appear
numbered
as ranchers obviously
get the right to kill suspected wolves
each one they see

and they are apex predators
a wild killing machine
that knows his art and practices it
as part of the natural scene

of course there’s nothing
natural
about herds of cows and sheep
around lands where the wolves
have roamed for centuries
the leap
forward for the ranchers
towards a total bill
would end the lives of wolves
on sight
for many more they would kill

and not for actually killing
but just for being there
shot on sight
it just ain’t right
and all of us must care
petition, write and do it
protect the wolves who were
born to roam where they do roam
and not face such despair
