I don’t believe that animals can’t speak just some of us are not hearing them

I don’t believe that animals can’t speak
no not at all
I do think we can’t hear them
for often they do call
we look away
Samaritans
we’re very far from that
its over to the other side
we rush
and some don’t bat
an eyelid
as their tears roll down
and their screams light up the sky
as billions have their dear throats slit
and are hung out to dry

I think some of us
have that urge to listen
but can’t bear
the thought of what they are trying to say
we pretend we’re unaware
its really too much hastle
lip service is what we tend to pay

I don’t believe that animals
can’t speak
no not at all
they communicate with each other
its just in audible
to our amazing senses
our complex attitude
we choose to have a moment
a silent interlude

we really have a plenitude
of expression in our hearts
but having to look into, their eyes
when it imparts
such sorrow and such woeful times
as when a poor soul dies

the reaper may be grim
who the hell would talk to him
I don’t believe that they don’t speak
I do believe that they all seek
an explanation for today
we arrange their deaths
we make them pay
and then we look the other way

Samaritans not us not us
look don’t bloody make a fuss
we see the beast a’hanging there
and we order steak and we want it rare
communication we’ve lost the plot
they sense it
they are in our pot
its just we never cared a lot

it just we never cared
