Hearing recent scares
of horse meat finding its way in
to products on our supermarket shelves
the reasons thin
we realise, the vileness
of the meat trade
and the threat
to more sick cruelty
and poor treatment
that some get

which leads onto the markets
and malnourished souls who are
taken off to slaughter
no honour for the star
who joined us in our battles
side by side, in war
many lost their lives there
and many more before
the horse is not for eating
not for cheating
no not at all

an anomaly of evilness and gore
The factories being set up
now for horses
must not be
man descends into a pit
of sick depravity
Horse slaughter has been shown to be
a violent awful end
