A kindly veterinarian

A veterinarian out in the forest goes
trying to look for animals that have been trapped
for she knows
theIr agony, their terror
which occurs when a soul
wanders into these contraptions
laid there by some troll

people who go to the forest
and do this kind of thing
have really no compassion
wooden hearts,that bring
abject pain and suffering
to a wild child who will be
once trapped just bound to suffer
so unnecessarily

if she finds them and can save them
can release them then she does
if they are badly injured
she can comfort, just that buzz
of energy around them that pity
and that aid
helps a soul to pass on
as it begins to fade

I come back to the trappers
contorted creeps that crawl
about disguising dangerously
these jagged jaws that fall
down on limbs and bodies
creating trauma and
mashing up the muscle
and exposing it and all

to find a women brave enough
to take this on and try
to help our little furry friends
to again see the sky
to not become a victim
murdered on the spot
after suffering untold pain
and then just being shot

I take my hat off to this women
she is mighty brave
going out on icy days
these little souls to save
you see there are all sorts
of people some who really care
and some who lay these evil jaws
around
or try to snare
