Animals in factories suffer pain again and again (but do consumers care)

Because we cannot
understand
the language of the
animals
the pain inflicted
on them we suppose
they cannot feel
it may be our great get out
clause or maybe
we don’t really care
we still go ahead
and hurt them
and clearly their pain
is real

factory farms are guilty
of some major torture methods
its all about a cheaper price
for supermarkets who
want to make a margin
but still sell at cheaper prices
so cutting down procedures
is what they often do

save the corporates money
but the animals they use
they have their testicles
torn off
with pliars
they abuse
these tiny little babies
they chop their teeth
as well
and tear their tails off
manually
these butcher boys from Hell

they bleed
their wounds get septic
they suppurate
they die
they cry out
in such agony
but no one asks them why
no one has the where for all
and they can’t tell us, they
are being bloody tortured
almost all the day

the workers
get insensitive
if they were not before
they carry out this mundane
stuff
smash piglets on the floor
and all the other horrid
things that man is seen to do
an never with anaesthetic
its violence through and through

the labourers and farm hands
frustration sometimes will
see them hurt the animals
and lots of blood they’ll spill
but the animals cannot communicate
they take what’s given out
they bruise of course they bleed of course
of that there’s little doubt

and what about consumers
who walk into their store
sidle up to the counter
the cuts of meat galore
how the soul was treated
how the soul was killed
whether it was tortured
and cried when its blood was spilled
they couldn’t care a monkeys
most of them agree
they buy what is the cheapest
and the cheapest has to be

where they have cut the corners
and the animal has paid
a ghastly price in agony
you see them on parade
hanging shaking on the chains
that take them to be killed
some bastard with a knife of sorts
slits their throat,
and its spilled

out their life’s blood everywhere
all over the butcher who
somehow he can do this job
day in day out
for you
increasing his vile karma
torturing his soul
so you can select your pristine tray
and sink deeper in your hole

that animal was crying
inside every day
it was kicked and punched
and threatened
each hour, it knew dismay
and all because you wanted
a cheaper cut when you
bought it from the market place
so you are guilty too
