We must respect these elders ( The indigenous first people)

We are really
such a bunch
of pitiful laggards
before we came
others lived this land
the wilderness their backyard
yes their lives were very hard
but guardians they were and
to understand
the indigenous first people
of all nations
we should extend our loving
hearts, but we
ignore them
we avoid them
are we envious of them?
or is it that we’re not prepared
to see

what they did
and how they feel about
what they all did
we’ve moved on, and
they
where are they now?
its our ignorance and arrogance
2 simple little words
but wisdom how they had it
and they still have it
and how

but alienated many of them
misunderstood and left
separated from their lives
feeling quite bereft
of love, that they had given
to the world around their eyes
to the wondrous lakes and rivers
where so much knowledge lies

  1. You could certainly see your enthusiasm in the work you write. The arena hopes for even more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. All the time follow your heart.
