The Mosquito revisited

Our lack of understanding
makes us so unsympathetic
to the tiny fly like soul
that does abound
In Malaysia and India
and other warmish places
The Mosquito comes to sample
and is bound
to cause us some discomfort
as she;s biting and sucking
up our blood for all she’s worth
in reality she is a doting mother
no different from so many now on earth

Her brood cannot maintain their
life without it
the protein thats in blood is what they need
she senses that we have the blood she’s after
but it is for her babies, she won’t feed
she is not a vampire, she’s a vegan
her want is nectar from a lovely flower
her maternal instinct is to help her
little babies and why she might quite
soon usurp your power

your ankles, legs and arms can be a target
she wants to be unhurried in her quest
of course she has a coagulant
so most we never notice not till after
then realise we’re blessed
with rather reddish bumps itchy and tender
and then of course what human beings do
is scratch which will then
aggravate the process
self control will help
really its true

covering up your vital parts
is another step
but most of us are out there
hoping we
can get our share of sunshine
our quest for vitamin D
hopeful for that healthy tan
and so it has to be

But clearly if you remember
its the female, she’s the one
the males they never bite
infact they shun
all contact
with us humans
though just like sacrificial lambs
of course
they die too in the toxics that
we spray around
when mosquito’s might prefer
the pig or horse
Maternally he takes the can
for what the ladies do
so cover up, use natural oils
and let Miss Mosquito through
she prefers the tapir
and the orangutan
so just be sympathetic
and treat her as a fan
