Pet Dogs hunted down and shipped to Vietnam and Laos

To those carnivores of Vietnam
and Laos
I have a word to
touch what heart is left
dogs now being stolen
from houses in Thailand
children crying outwardly bereft
of their dear pet
picked up by the collection
gangs
who search the city streets
and when they can
they steal a little dog
perhaps a bigger dog
possibly you do not feel
those pangs
as their hooked up and their hurt,
you hear that dreadful squeal
it curdles blood just hearing it
anyone who can feel
its afterall a pet
its been lying in some garden
its little life was set
but now its in some rotten truck
with sullen faced, devils who
havent felt emotional for a long time
very few
people in this kind of job
have the will to be
loving to the innocent,
its so true, tragically
the best dogs, are shipped off to Vietnam
to be force fed
the mongrels and the poor old waifs
and strays are killed
soon dead
and sold in local markets
for the thai people to eat
the pedigree’s are shipped across
the Meakong, those elite
still face a harrowing journey
with evil all the way
trading in the innocent is sinful
for they pay
high prices for their fur and meat
and will torture them and make
their little lives a misery
its the terror road they take
and of course their little eyes
search ours
hopeful, we can save
their little lives but truthfully
they die without a grave
just a heap of bones
picked of the flesh
and tossed away
just a heap of memories
and a high price they did pay
