I can’t get the River Swan out of my mind

The river
giver
seldom taking
my hearts aching
just to be
sat beside its
glorious calmness
a sundrenched
soulful entity
how it plays the
light around it
smooth and rippled
honestly
across its width
a bridge of concrete
carries traffic constantly
wild sentinels
are grazing nearby
Sea birds make a constant cry
searching for some human crumbs
or The odd fat slug
That may amble by
Perth city looks across the water
rising from its sandy plain
Man’s ingenuity and prowess
Mirrored now on every pane
