Man eating TIGER of the Sundabans

Amber eyes
Light bearer dazzles
The Sundabans
Its mangroves where
A shooting star and avid fireball
A lightening flash and so aware

Hiding in dense forest
Waiting
Cadmium henna ochre blush
Striped and handsome
Such an image
Shadowy before the rush

Camouflaged obscured eclipsed
Powerful clarity of eye
Glaring staring even sharing
Its vividness I know not why

The Sundabans a vast arena
A verdant leafy bright domain
Where sombre leaden waters flourish
And villagers fish for to gain
The tiger he the forest keeper
Without him the balance lost
For luminance he brings the lustre
But sometimes at a dreadful cost

To villagers who hunt for honey
Or fisherman along the banks
Picked off and dragged into the jungle
A man eater, well he ranks
High up on the demon evil
Fear he strikes through every one
In stealth he visits sometimes nightly
And all know when his work is done

Maneaters are a scourge to darkness
Their furtiveness and their desire
Love to ambush covert smothered
Undercover souls of fire
Silent prowling cloak and dagger
A low profile they may take
Under cloak of darkness moving
The tiger really is no fake

A warrior a poser really
Full of learning full of fight
When they get a taste for humans
Such destiny is far from right
As anger builds a village maybe
Ready to go hunt the beast
Bash its brains out in the forest
Where they think it enjoys its feast

Someones mother someones brother
Someones cow or someones goat
The angst is out there
and will be growing
Clearly its a thing of note
400 tigers in the forest
Each is valuable ofcourse
But when one searches out a human
Then the villagers by force

May search it down and bash its brains out
It can happen and it may
With villages so close to Tigers
Be a price too much to pay
And so one village they decided
To train some village dogs to see
How they would cope at being tiger hounds
To warn and keep things free

Really only lowly mongrels
But several minded to do things right
To use the training they were given
And act as one in any fight
And so the training began in earnest
And was expected to thus deter
Any would be man eating tiger
For clearly out there now there were

Animals drawn to the village
And drawn to human beings who
Clearly are a tasty offering
And its hoped these dogs will do
The work of warning sleeping people
They themselves will not be phased
And hopefully it will quieten down
Now that the problem has been raised
