A victim one of the many ( Orangutans)

Leave me alone
I am scorched
I am burning
look at me now
I was and I’m yearning
for man
with his unkind ways
to leave us be
we Arborial apes
and each lush green tree
you burn to the ground
sees our babies on fire
sees our pain and our tears
for our life here is dire
in the great quest
for Palm oil
you extinguish us all
I am burning inside
won’t you answer my call?
Look at me reddened
by all of this fire
my head in my hands
you are the liar
professing to care for us
burning us black
we live and we die
for there is no way back
the forest is gone
the tree spaces bare
where can I go
its just miles of despair
the litter is filthy
every things dead
my children have perished
what it has led
to is such vile destruction
why do this at all
what was so alive
those great trees so tall
all crushed and chopped down
by the great teeth of woe
by the steel dinosaurs
that punish us so
