Bereft of hope
Fearing the worst
Horses in Pakistan
Lose heart and hope
Abandoned by the working man
Carrying far too much
On carts that Really must have seen
Better days the quaking ways
And drivers whom Are mean
They have a bad reputation
Many very poor
And if a horse should falter
Then it’s a mini war
The driver will throw rocks
At them
Hit them in the face
A domineering attitude
And it’s a disgrace
Clearly without feeling
Brazen as can be
No thought for The weary horse
Whose suffering terribly
It’s hot the cart is stuck
The need is now to try.
and help the horse not attack it
You would have to ask them why
A work horse giving all it can
Is beaten down and made
To suffer a fusillade of stones
When What he needs is aid
The abhorrence that we see
The lack of respect for animAls
Who are working and who be
Suffering its odious to watch these rocks
And hear
Them crack into the horses head
And in its eyes the fear
This is in the open
On a public street
People can see what is happening
In all of the heat
Whoever’s chucking rocks
At horses needs to Feel the wrath
Crack his bloody head with one
And leave him on the path.
