Hunters killing bears are clearly
Not the farmers friend
Not the friends of anyone
And the environment does send
It’s messages apparent
Out across the great
Sky of true effectiveness
That its miracles create
Complete equilibrium
And hunting the predation
Is totally immoral
To speak of conservation
By killing created animals
Is an anathema of sin
And Bears play a great part in life
Though their worth to some
Is thin
Guns and ammunition
Hunting clobber too
There is a vast support group
Supporting as they do
The corporation safari clubs
All in the trophy game
Making out they are useful
Yes constantly they claim
How good they are
And how the local population too
Welcome them with open arms
But we know this isn’t true
Destruction of the predator
Is an arrogance and we
Must try to stop this madness
Which is psychopathy
Imagine a bear an amazing soul
With so much worth who takes on the role
Who is terribly complex Manages lots
An honest miracle hear the shots
Ring out from hunters far away
Telescopic lenses play
High five offerings every time
A bear is shot down in its prime
Huckleberries and nuts and fish
Carrien sometimes
Moths too wish
A Hunter had really shot them all
But it is breaking every rule
For bears adapt
That’s what they do
Cutworm moths they take the view
Go up to the rocky climes
And turn over stones
So many times
The moth is
Largely lots of fat
Calories is where it’s at
For about five weeks it does its thing
300’000 it can bring
Down and into its mouth and so
It puts weight on and it can grow
It’s thought the moths are hiding there
Away from the heat that they might share
The parents have told their babies they
Can eat this bounty anyway
When salmon are spawning
The rapids splash
That’s when the fish make their dash
Up stream and is a time when Bears
Standing and fish for he who dares
Wins up here in the frosty clime
Fresh rich salmon off the line
The bears can smell their noses are
Extra sensitive from afar
They can smell the moths and go to where
They will be huddled in some despair
The grizzly or the black bears do
Love the taste of the cutworms who
Produce their moth who likes to be
Under the rocks decidedly
Bears eat honey and they do
Have great long tongues
And They work them through
the termite kingdoms
When’e’re they can
Raising their calories
Which is the plan
They burn up a lot
So they have to eat well
Wild is as precious
So they tell
HUnters are wasters
They make a loss
Taking out animals
They don’t give a toss
They think they know everything
But in effect
Their minds are not with them
That I detect
All the hangers on
Keeps them in play
The lead and the tungsten
They use everyday
It’s shot into environments
This toxic brew
And weakens so many
Again it’s all true
BEars Lions and Elephants
Suffer so much
Recently Giraffes have come into touch
Cheaper to slaughter
And easier to see
A bloody great target
Taller than a tree
As the number of wild souls
Die out by the day
Farmers have taken to trying to pay
Lip service to them the starlEts I mean
On TV in programmes
I call them obscene
Trophies and canned hunting
Evils that cost
Whole environments
Are being lost
Prey animals growing
With predators killed
Thus vegetation
And blood being spilled
For nothing theSe hunters
Want shooting i say
Let’s just Make it crime and then make them pay
