The trap neuter return

I had a lucky escape today

picked up on the street

I am just a feral

although I keep myself looking neat

I wander around the streets all day

and go in the forest at night

and the truck came by

and with a gleam in his eye

one officer got it right

this one’s been ear tipped

I heard him say

part of the program

he’s okay

let him go he’s no threat no more

that saved my life of that I am sure

if they hadn’t of let me go

I could have ended on death row

a lot of them do

and then that’s their lot

but I got a snip

I’m lucky I got

that little snip

when they neutered me

now I am as free as a busy bee

I can do no wrong

I am no threat

and this from a cat

its my best bet

The trap neuter programme

has got to be

a progressive step

you have to agree

there was never any pain

no none at all

I’m one who knows

so take that from me

some shout mutilation

you better know

if it wasn’t for the programme

I’s be on death row

alleycats.org has done me proud

because i  stick out, in any  crowd

I’m a special cat with a funny ear

and even the officers they are clear

I am on my own a feral boy

and I bring only the best of joy.
