Badgers

A half a million years
They have walked the earth
Before the Dairy Trade
Ever was considered
These omnivores all weighed
Into the conclusion
These earth worm eating souls
Living in their detached setts
Taking on their roles

As members of the countryside
Their beautiful black eyes
Looked out at the tall trees
They were always wise
Families living peaceablyUnderneath the skies

Now the ignorant government
Listen far too long
To the arrogant farmers
Who sing the dairy song
Talking up the bovine TB issue
Till they are fed
Faced and clearing wondering
What’s coming to a head

So shooting is on the horizon
Gassing it is there too
Bovine TB causing profit losses
Which they do
Blame it on the badgers
Give them loads of grief
Natives of our forests
The Milk Trade is a chief

Amongst the many profiteers
And of course they say
Badgers carry TB
And it’s in the moo cows whey
Which Is laced with TB
Affecting the sales
Like crazy so we see

Thousands of these warriors
Are now being killed
Everywhere the shooters
At night their
blood is spilled
Badgers get the rap sheet
Badgers are the ones
Knocking them every which way
Mothers fathers sons
