From donkey skins
It’s what the ancient Chinese thought to do
To Donkeys caring loyal creations
Animals that truly are the best
Docile helpful workers
Often given grief
And the Chinese sadly abuse them
Which is beyond belief.

Bash them with a sledgehammer
And strip their skin away
Probably eat their flesh as meat
The skin though bray on bray
This vile and awful torture
Carried out to heal
Various human ailments
Honest folks it’s real

Well AFrica has banned it
No exported donkeys will
Be given grief and horror
I must say that relief
Was called for by so many animal Rightists who
Hate to witness the insanity
Of ejiao yes it’s true

Sanctuaries everywhere
Look after Donkeys who
Fall foul of ugly humans
Left to fail it’s true
So it’s very good that AFrica now has passed a law
For it will save the donkeys
From now till for evermore.
